There have been 11 games between these two sides with the Swans winning 8 of those clashes to the Giants 3 wins. Despite this lopsided record, it is the Giants who have won the last two games by 7 goals and 6 goals most recently.
Sydney opened their 2017 campaign with a 28 point loss to Port Adelaide followed by a 23 point loss to defending premiers Western Bulldogs. They then suffered an agonising 1 point loss to Collingwood the following weekend. In Round 4 the Swans again lost, this time by 26 points to West Coast.
The Giants season got off to a woeful start as they were belted by Adelaide by 8 goals. The Giants bounced back in brutal style, hammering the Suns by 102 points 160-58 in a clinical performance. Round 3 saw the Giants beat the Roos by 7 goals and they won again last weekend against Port Adelaide by 112-81.
Full Forward lines – GWS can score points. Last year they were one of the top 3 sides in attack while the Swans have an all-star forward line who have yet to fire. Sydney needs a massive improvement up front if they are to win any games, let alone this one.
The Giants are favourites here however the Swans can never be written off, especially with the squad they have.
