Race 7 – Darley Goodwood – This feature race is worth a huge one million dollars. Black Heart Bart will start as the favourite here. He won his last two races back in February before earning a spell. He’ll be first up here after a 3 month spell and is looking very likely to pick up the win here. Secret Agenda comes into this race on the back of successive race wins in his last runs. This will be his fourth run since resuming in late March after a four month spell. Hitting his stride now and could be a threat. Vega Magic will be first up here after a 5 month break. He’s had 4 wins in his last 6 starts and if he can get away clean, he could well take out the win as he is a classy sprinter. Malaguerra is a classy horse and lifts for the big races. He beat Black Heart Bart earlier in the year over this same distance at Moonee Valley. Has been rested for much of the time since then so will be on fresh legs for this.
Betting: Black Heart Bart $3.50; Vega Magic $6.50; Secret Agenda $7.00; Malaguerra $8.00; First Among Equals $20.00; Illustrious Lad $21.00; Santa Ana Lane $21.00.
