Race 6 – The Shootout – This main event race will see a total $25,000 in prize money up for grabs. Only a small field of four dogs will be competing in this race, however two of those are very evenly matched and are expected to put on a great battle for the win. Bewildering has been a late scratching. Aston Dee Bee will be the short priced favourite here thanks largely to having won all of his last five starts. He now has 30 wins from 51 starts. He was improved in his last run after having rested for a fortnight. Expect another dominant performance here. Quick Jagger has won his last three straight races over longer runs than this. Expect him to push the favourite all the way here. Genuine win chance. Shadale has 22 features from 31 starts, 14 of which are wins, while Black Mumbo has 43 features from 61 races, 20 of which are wins. Neither are slouches and are good enough to win here.
Betting: Aston Dee Bee $1.55; Quick Jagger $3.30; Black Mumbo $10.00; Shadale $12.00.
