Race 6 – RWWA Cup MS Pace – This Group 2 race has a few very strong trotters which should make for a great race. Our Jimmy Johnstone will start as the short priced favourite despite an uncharacteristic last place in his most recent race. He’s had a month off since then and will be sure to bounce back strongly here. Im Full Of Excuses has won 5 of his last 6 races and is in magnificent form right now. All of those wins have been by strong margins too. If he gets away early, he may be too hard to run down. Shardons Rocket is one of the oldest and most experienced trotters still racing and has spent most of his time racing at this track. Always deserves to be respected.
Betting: Our Jimmy Johnstone $1.85; Im Full Of Excuses $2.80; Shardons Rocket $6.50; Bronze Seeker $10.00; Lisharry $11.00.
Race 7 – Caduceus Club Classic MS Pace – The Group 1 feature event has a very strong field which will make for a tight race, with a number of trotters with genuine claims. Im Rockaria is in blistering form of late, having won 4 of his last 5 and 9 of his 14 career races. He’s very comfortable over this distance too. Maczaffair is 15 races old and has only missed the top 3 on three occasions. She’s raced exclusively over this distance since the start of the year, picking up 3 wins, a second place and a fourth in her 5 starts. Rock Diamonds had his first poor run last start where he ran last. In the eight races prior he won 7 and finished third in the other race. Since his poor run he has been given a month off. He’ll be much better resuming here. Davinci Diamond brings the best form of all the trotters into this, having won all of his last three runs.
Betting: Im Rockaria $2.75; Maczaffair $5.50; Wesley $6.50; Rock Diamonds $6.50; Lord Willoughby $9.50; Davinci Diamond $9.50.
