Race 8 – TabTouch Perth Cup – This Group 2 main event will see half a million dollars in prize money on the line. Material Man has been reasonably solid since returning from a 6 month break, winning first up and then running second in his last two starts, after having run just behind the features in the two runs prior. He was very close to wins in all of his last three starts, finishing within a length of the winner on each occasion. Trap For Fools is the form horse in this race, having won all of his last 6 races, all of which were on this track over 2100 and 2200 metres. The extra distance shouldn’t pose any great issue for him. Pounamu has won 3 of his last four starts, all of which were by tight margins on this track. He’s in top form right now and is expected to be in the mix as well.
Betting: Material Man $4.20; Trap For Fools $4.60; Pounamu $5.00; Royal Star $8.00; Zarantz $9.00; Dark Alert $12.00; Star Value $17.00; Angola $20.00; Falcon Crest $21.00; Shinta Mani $26.00; Cosmic Storm $34.00; Bollywood Blitz $41.00.
