Race 8 – Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas – This Group 1 feature race will be the last of the three running for the meet and will see a big $2 million in prize money on the line. Royal Symphony will start this race as the narrow favourite after his good recent form produced 3 straight wins in his first campaign before resuming with a first up win and a last start second up fourth place in a close race. He is a strong runner and is fully capable of the win here despite the strong field. Catchy won her first four starts before a poor run ended her campaign. She resumed with a good second place, a win and a last start third up third place. Ultra consistent. Is expected to be in the features again and will be a strong win hope here. Kementari had a good opening two races, running second on debut before winning his maiden second up. Took a break and resumed with a fourth place and a last start second up runners up trophy.
Betting: Royal Symphony $4.40; Catchy $4.50; Kementari $5.50; Gold Standard $9.00; Perast $10.00; Showtime $11.00; Levendi $21.00; Salsamor $26.00; Sanctioned $28.00; Holy Snow $31.00.
