Race 7 – Australian Guineas – This Group 1 feature race has quite a strong field, all of whom will be battling it out for a piece of the $1 million in prize money on offer. Cliff’s Edge will be the favourite here thanks largely to his solid form since resuming from a 3 month spell, scoring a first up win and then a last start second up second place, less than a length behind the winner. Is in great condition and will take some beating in this. Grunt is in brilliant form right now, having won all of his three races in his current campaign. Still has improvement in him, making him an immense chance to win here. Aloisia resumed 2 weeks ago after a 3 month spell and despite jumping awkwardly, finished just 2 lengths off the pace. A clean start here could well see her go close to a win. She’s definitely capable. Main Stage also resumed last start, finishing fourth, within 2 lengths of the winner. Second up here and won second up previously. Has claims.
Betting: Cliff’s Edge $4.40; Grunt $5.50; Aloisia $7.50; Addictive Nature $11.00; Mighty Boss $13.00; Main Stage $13.00; Peaceful State $13.00; Villermont $17.00; Bring Me Roses $17.00; Levendi $18.00; Embellish $19.00; Holy Snow $20.00.
