Race 7 – Donalda Motors Maffra Cup Benchmark 78 Handicap – This feature race of the day will see a total of $50,000 in prize money on offer. Data Point will start as the favourite here after a successful return from a 6 month spell last month, where he scored a first up win by 4 lengths before a last start second place. He looks capable of continuing his strong form thanks to a 3 week spell prior to this race. King Way has a rails run here and will be first up after an 11 month absence. He trialled recently and come away with the win, so he’s a very likely prospect here. Cosmic Lights is closing in on his next win, but he’ll have to work for it here as he’ll be jumping from an awkward wide barrier. Is good enough to get the job done.
Betting: Data Point $3.30; Cosmic Lights $5.50; Strike Force $6.00; King Way $7.50; Typhoon Jolie $8.50; Don’t We Love It $9.50; The Willybe $10.00; Scapa Cove $14.00; GOlbal Gentl $16.00.
