Race 7 – Mac’s Hotel Woodford Cup – This feature race will produce a total of $45,000 in prize money. Howard Be Thy Name will start as the favourite and has firmed in betting, coming in from $3.30, despite some poor form in his two runs since resuming from a full year off. He ran 10th of 12 first up and then 8th of 11 in his last start. He looks to be finding his feet again and is too talented to continue finishing at the back. Expect him to produce a dramatically improved run here and could well be hard to beat. Artie’s Shore will be third up here and showed considerable improvement in his last start and will be expected to continue that trend here. Huge win chance in conditions that suit him nicely. Elite Tiger improved well in his last run, coming home in second place, a long nose shy of a win. Will be in the mix.
Betting: Howard Be Thy Name $3.00; Artie’s Shore $4.80; Elite Tiger $4.80; Doctor Care $6.00; Floral Fever $6.50; King Kamada $9.50; Goldie’s Fortune $17.00; Practiced $23.00; Stellarized $23.00.
