The Final of the FA Cup will take place this weekend at the iconic Wembley Stadium with Premier League powerhouse sides Arsenal and Chelsea doing battle.

There have been 189 games between these two sides, in all competitions, with Arsenal holding the head-to-head lead with 73 wins while Chelsea has 62 wins. A further 54 games have been drawn. In the FA Cup, they have met 19 times, the Gunners with 8 wins to Chelsea’s 5 while 6 games were drawn. Their last match was a League game and was won by Chelsea 3-1.
Arsenal opened their FA Cup campaign with a 2-1 win over second division side Preston before belting Premier League outfit Southampton 5-0. In the fifth round they came up against fifth division side Sutton, who made Arsenal work for their 2-0 victory. In the quarter final, they came up against fifth division side Lincoln, but Arsenal strolled home to win 5-0 to advance to the Semi against Manchester City. That match ended in a draw, but in the 101st minute, Sanchez broke the deadlock to send the Gunners to the Final.
Chelsea entered the FA Cup in the third round where they came up against third division side Peterborough and strolled to a 4-1 victory. They then hammered second division side Brentford 4-0 in the fourth round before coming up against another second division side in Wolverhampton, whom the Blues beat 2-0. Chelsea then beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Quarter Final to advance to the semi-final. Chelsea were dominant in their semi against the Spurs, taking out the win 4-2 to march into the final.
Midfield defence – Chelsea’s defence has been brilliant all year in all competitions and will be up against the slightly poorer defence, but better attacking unit of Arsenal.
Chelsea have been so hard to beat all year, making them favourites here. Arsenal though have been one of few sides to beat the Blues.
