Manchester City have started this season in blistering form, sitting atop the table after 10 rounds, yet to lose a game. They won their opening League game against newly promoted side Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0. In the second round of the Premier League, Man City were surprisingly held to a 1 all draw with Everton. They survived a shock equaliser against Bournemouth to hit back with a goal and win 2-1 in Round 3. They’ve won every game since, starting with a 5-0 hiding of Liverpool, a 6-0 flogging of Watford and 5-0 thrashing of lowly Crystal Palace. They then beat defending champions Chelsea 1-0, belted Stoke 7-2 and then Burnley 3-0. They snuck home 3-2 against West Brom and then beat Arsenal 3-1 and Leicester City 2-0. They struggled against Huddersfield, Southampton and Hammers in the next three games, but won all of them by the same 2-1 scoreline. City then beat rivals Man United 2-1 before last weeks 4-0 hiding of Swansea. They then were in blistering form as they put away Spurs 4-1 and Bournemouth 4-0 before a dip produced a 1-0 win over the out of form Newcastle and then a scoreless draw with the lowly Palace. They hit back with comfortable wins over Watford 3-1 and Burnley 4-1. The Citizens suffered their first loss of the season when they fell to Liverpool 4-3, before hitting back with three straight wins against Newcastle 3-1, Cardiff 2-0 and West Brom 3-0. After they drew with Burnley 1 all, Man City beat Leicester 5-1 and then Arsenal 3-0 last week.
Defending champions Chelsea will be hoping to return to their impressive form from last season which saw them win 30 of their 38 games. They opened their Premier League campaign with a shock 3-2 loss to Burnley, but bounced back to topple the second best side last season, Tottenham, 2-1 to get their season underway. They then beat Everton 2-0 and Leicester City 2-1 before a scoreless draw with Arsenal in Round 5. The Blues then belted Stoke 4-0 before dropping consecutive games to League leaders Manchester City 1-0 and the last placed Crystal Palace 2-1. They bounced back with wins against Watford 4-2 and Bournemouth 1-0. Chelsea then overcame fellow heavyweights Manchester United 1-0 and then hammered West Brom 4-0. Chelsea were then held to a draw with Liverpool before beating Swansea 1-0 and Newcastle 3-1. After they went down to the Hammers 1-0, Chelsea has beaten Huddersfield 3-1 and Southampton 1-0, then drew nil all with Chelsea before beating Brighton 2-0 and Stoke 5-0. They drew their next two games against Arsenal 2 all and Leicester 0 all. Brighton went down 4-0 to the Blues before Chelsea suffered big back-to-back losses 3-0 to Bournemouth and 4-1 to Watford. They hit back with a solid 3-0 win over West Brom but last week fell to Man U 2-1.
Front 3 – These sides have world class front 3 line ups, who are in the peak of their careers. Both sides are defensively stingy, adding extra pressure to the forwards.
Man City have been immaculate all season. A continuation of that form should see them get the 3 points here.
